Machine Learning

Machine learning solutions are part of our Digitizing Manufacturing service but already provide advanced data models and algorithms for semi-automated/automated processes.

What is machine learning?

Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence that involves the development of algorithms and models capable of learning from data. It allows computers to identify patterns of behaviour, make predictions and continuously improve their performance without being explicitly programmed.

Today, Machine learning is already used in all areas of industry and everyday life.

Machine learning can be divided into three main types:

1

Supervised Learning: in this method, algorithms are trained on labeled data, which means that the model learns to make predictions by mapping inputs to desired outputs. It is widely used in applications such as image recognition, spam email filtering, manufacturing process error detection, semi-automated steps in manufacturing, and recommender systems.

2

Unsupervised Learning: involves finding patterns in the data without any predefined labels. Clustering and object retrieval are common techniques in this category that are often used in customer segmentation and the detection of anomalies and defects in production and quality.

3

Reinforcement Learning : this type of learning is used to train agents to make sequences of decisions in an environment and time to achieve a specific goal. Applications are in games, robotics and autonomous systems.
